In 2005, the Ontario Convention Center hosted something brand-new.
For two days, approximately a hundred attendees met to discuss what amounted to to both a hobby, and an as-yet-untested way of promoting a business.
Podcasting.
At one point during those two days, one speaker said, “Podcasting’s great, but nobody’s figured out how to monetize it yet.”
Interestingly, the emphasis on podcasting, for this first convention, was mainly “how podcasting can benefit your business”.
Fast-forward to 2011–and the Los Angeles Convention Center.
For an extended weekend in November, new media people from all over the world met to discuss the ways they were sharing their messages.
