Artist Bill Rude creates a world of monsters, dark fairy-tale illustrations and pulp-novel images.
And he’s designed it to be a friendly place.
Bill is a professional designer, animator and special-effects expert whose horror work has added to the “scare factor” of TV shows like True Blood, and movies including Zombie Prom and The First Vampire. He describes his original art as”retro horror art” on his artist website, 7hells.com, and explains that this work is based on exploring the concept of horror.
Bill talked about his background, his work and why he especially enjoys drawing his B-movie posters and pulp novel covers, which contain a surprise (no, we won’t spoil it here; you’re just going to have to listen!).
