Artist Patrick Voss gets attacked by zombies on a regular basis.
He loves every minute of it.
Patrick is a special-effects designer and owner of VFX Creative Studios in the greater St. Louis area. He’s been creating “impossible” special effects for film, television and local haunts, including St. Louis’ Terror Visions. But a new idea enabled Patrick to create his Halloween designs full-time: in 2012, he came up with a life-sized zombie puppet.
This year, Patrick and his VFX Creative Studios team released their “Attack Line” of thirteen wearable zombie puppets as their first major haunt attraction and theme park product. Their corps(e?) of “attack zombies” includes werewolves, scarecrows and psycho clowns.
During Halloween convention ScareLA, in August, Patrick talked about his background, the story of his life-sized zombies and what he’s learned, as an artist, from creating “Sidewinder Sally” and her ghoulish cohorts.
