TechShop CEO and co-founder Mark Hatch asks one question fairly often, in the course of his normal workday.
“What are you making?”
TechShop is the nation’s first open-access maker space and creative community. TechShop has both classes and facilities available to teach anyone over 12 how to make just about anything that person can imagine. In his book, The Maker Movement Manifesto, Mark hails this innovation as the way of the future.
Since Mark first began working with founder Jim Newton in 2007, TechShop has grown from its original Menlo Park location to eight locations nationwide. Mark and his TechShop team now have plans in the works to open new TechShops in Los Angeles and New York. And, spread the word–TechShop is currently offering one-year free memberships to 3,000 veterans!
Just prior to a Town Hall meeting about the proposed TechShop Los Angeles, Mark talked about his experiences, how he first became involved with TechShop and his goals for the future.
