Whatever your means of innovating, creating or making a difference, you still need to get your message out there.
Today at Cal State L.A., WordCamp Los Angeles showed several hundred people how to do exactly that.
For “Foundation Friday” of this weekend’s WordCamp LA, organizers offered three tracks: business, design and WordPress beginner workshops. Attendees could mix and match sessions–and did, learning about everything from WordPress basics to Web design and marketing. Speakers engaged in moderated dialogues, panels and short lecture presentations, giving their audiences plenty of takeaways.
“Don’t use passwords associated with you,” WordPress Evangelist Suzettte Franck warned a capacity crowd in the beginner workshop session on “Backups and Security”.
“Meetup group is one of the best social media sites,” commented Social Media Mastermind Orange County Founder Bob Watson, during a “Sales and Marketing” moderated discussion, “and one of the most overlooked.”
“There are about thirty thousand plugins available for free, from WordPress.org,” said Web Training Wheels creator Lucy Beer, guiding her audience through an “Introduction to Plugins” workshop.
