Currently, 2014’s only national podcasting conference, the Podcast Movement, is scheduled to start in just a matter of hours, in Dallas. This special event was funded through Kickstarter in February. According to Kickstarter’s website, the Podcast Movement project not only received almost three times the amount of its original funding goal, but exceeded its “stretch goal” by almost ten thousand dollars!
And–there’s another huge event on the horizon.
Earlier this week, New Media Expo organizers announced the dates and venue for their 2015 conference. The New Media Expo, or NMX, has evolved from the former BlogWorld/New Media Expo. They’re new media’s signature event: the world’s largest conference for bloggers, web TV creators and podcasters. And–after having hosted a successful “New Media Lounge” in April at the 2014 NAB Show, they’re planning to co-locate their 2015 New Media Expo with the National Association of Broadcasters, April 13th through 16th, for NAB 2015! Ninety-three thousand people, from all over the world, are expected to attend.
What an exciting time to be a new-media person. Have a great time in Dallas, everybody–and see you in Las Vegas!
