People call country artist Josey Milner “Kansas City’s Princess of Country Music”.
In 2013, her debut single, “Not Pretty Enough”, reached the number-one position on the world’s first independent country music chart, Indie World. While earning accolades that included a “Top 10 Hottest New Artist” designation, “Not Pretty Enough” launched Josey’s campaign as a spokesperson for nationwide anti-bullying organization Angels and Doves.
Next, Josey returned to top positions on the country charts–and sent people boot-kicking onto the dance floor–with her good-times rendition of “Cowgirls”. More recently, she’s opened standing-room-only shows for American Idol and performed at the Hard Rock Cafe, in Nashville.
Considering that Josey’s just been been building her music career for the past three years, all these accomplishments are pretty amazing. But add to that: she’s the first person in her family to choose music as her profession, and she’s only eighteen!
Josey talked about the steps she took to build her career, her current projects and some of her favorite experiences as a performer.
