Enjoy being creative.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Niklas, who creates art with technology, specializes in interactive installations which center on a spirit of fun and discovery.   His goal: to make art accessible to people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results tend to be highly engaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XB3CaJLfQpg\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XB3CaJLfQpg\">his YouTube channel<\/a>, he&#8217;s reimagining the traditional school bell.   Students get to create and upload their own melodies.  These get stored in an archive, and each time the bell rings, a physical instrument selects and plays one of these, randomly.   In addition, Niklas writes, there&#8217;s a custom &#8220;clock&#8221; on which the hands &#8220;dance&#8221; in time with the melodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>An excursion through creativity<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A look at his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/\">website<\/a> reveals almost-innumerable installations, centered around the same sense of fun and exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mini-robot, or &#8220;drawbot&#8221;, equipped with a glittery parasol,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/robotfactory\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/robotfactory\/\">draws on a whiteboard<\/a>.   A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/oneEuro\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/oneEuro\/\">&#8220;Generative Art 1C&#8221; vending machine<\/a> dispenses unique fine-art drawings when visitors insert one euro.   A <a href=\"https:\/\/niklasroy.com\/jai_faim\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/niklasroy.com\/jai_faim\/\">mechatronics game <\/a>challenges participants to feed sushi to a popular fashion doll&#8211;which &#8220;eats&#8221; by extending an outsized tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LED lights, bubbles, electronic music and vehicles which visitors can ride have all been components of Niklas&#8217; installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8220;Openness and accessibility&#8221;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And his projects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/#filter\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.niklasroy.com\/#filter\">are open-source<\/a>, encouraging makers to use their own creative talents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I believe in openness and accessibility, which is why I share each project&#8217;s schematics, code, and documentation online\u2014encouraging others to copy, remix, and build upon my work,&#8221; Niklas writes, on his website.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also enjoys sharing his talents in workshops and conference presentations.
