Please enjoy this reposting of one of our top conversations on robotics from 2025.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/twomaverix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Anthony-Galgano2.jpg\" alt=\"True Robotics President and Founder Anthony Galgano smiles against a background of a cork board on which are three students' drawings of robots.\" class=\"wp-image-33153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/twomaverix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Anthony-Galgano2.jpg 700w, https:\/\/twomaverix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Anthony-Galgano2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.blubrry.com\/id\/154076130?cache=1782072430#textcolor-Dark&#038;backgroundcolor-ffffff\" title=\"Blubrry Podcast Player\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\" height=\"165px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where does inspiration start?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, it begins with an experience, which makes someone see themselves&#8211;and their future&#8211;from an exciting new perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s the whole idea behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/\">True Robotics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On their website, this Worcester, Massachusetts-based startup states their mission as,  &#8220;providing every student the opportunity to learn with robots, not just the top 10-20% of learners&#8221; .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">True Robotics President and Founder Anthony Galgano is accomplishing that mission by providing curricula and robotics kits for students, grades K through 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There (are) so many programs out there that are amazing for&#8230;the kids who are going to MIT already,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;But what I think is unique about us, is that we are focused on that other percentage, that 80 percent, and trying to get everyone exposure.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Open doors, competitions and mini-modules<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">True Robotics has a multi-pronged approach to that goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They offer three different classroom robotics packages&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/paving-the-way-with-treads\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/paving-the-way-with-treads\">Treads<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/taking-off-with-pilot\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/taking-off-with-pilot\">Pilot<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/introduction-to-robotics-with-axle\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/introduction-to-robotics-with-axle\">Axle<\/a>, for grades K-3, 3-5. and 6-8, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For educators who don&#8217;t have the budget for robotics kits, they have free or low-cost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/mini-units\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.truerobotics.org\/mini-units\">mini modules<\/a> on their website.  These include a playground simulation, coding and AI lessons and machine learning fundamentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They welcome students for tours at their warehouse, as well as visiting schools in their local area, and showcasing their programs at conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, they host competitions!   Their third annual True Robotics Competition took place approximately a month ago, according to Anthony&#8217;s LinkedIn, and was their largest one yet.  Fourteen teams competed, using their problem-solving skills in events including obstacle courses, king of the hill and robot soccer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> &#8220;Getting the students to be empowered, and taking responsibility&#8230;it&#8217;s like one of the coolest things, to actually impact the students forever,&#8221; Anthony says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthony talked about his background in robotics, offered a closer look at True Robotics\u2019 robotics packages and shared his vision for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>On this edition of Over Coffee\u00ae we cover:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How Anthony first discovered his passion for robotics;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The story of True Robotics;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How the robotics packages work, for both students and teachers;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How robotics can engage students whose main interests are NOT math and science;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One of the most fun ways Anthony has seen robotics inspire students;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How one teacher went from \u201ctech-intimidated\u201d to robotics enthusiast after incorporating True Robotics into her classroom;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A closer look at True Robotics\u2019 free and low-cost \u201cmini-units\u201d STEM lessons;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some of the grant possibilities, for schools for which the robotics kits aren&#8217;t currently in their budget;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One of the coolest things Anthony has learned about robotics, in the course of his work empowering students and educators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over Coffee\u00ae is on summer hiatus as we prepare a special-edition show!
